HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor is a device that can measure the distance to an object by using sound waves. It measures distance by sending out a sound wave at a specific frequency and listening for that sound wave to bounce back. By recording the elapsed time between the sound wave being generated and the sound wave bouncing back, it is possible to calculate the distance between the sonar sensor and the object.

Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04 is great for all kind of projects that need distance measurements, avoiding obstacles as examples.HC-SR04 provides 2cm-400cm non-contact measurement function, the ranging accuracy can reach to 3mm. The modules include ultrasonic transmitters, receiver and control circuit.

For Arduino Project with Ultrasonic Sensor
HC-SR04 consists of ultrasonic transmitter, receiver, and control circuit. Connection mode: VCC, trig (control), echo (receiving
end), GND ground wire.
Ultrasonic Sensor Module Working Principle
Pull the Trig pin to high level for more than 10us impulse, the module start ranging.
The module automatically sends eight 40KHz square wave to detect whether a signal is returned.
Finished ranging, If you find an object in front, Echo pin will be high level, and based on the different distance, it will take
the different duration of high level.
So we can calculated the distance easily. The distance = ((Duration of high level)*(Sonic :340m/s))/2. Distance L = 1/2 × T × C
